A Mass for Life

Andrew's life-long love of jazz and commitment to accessible sacred music has brought about his 'Mass for Life'. Scored for SATB choir and a jazz quintet of piano, double bass, drums, trumpet and sax, this piece delighted audiences and performers alike at its première performances in July 2011. In 2013, Andrew re-orchestrated the piece for full Big Band for a performance in Exeter Cathedral.

Combining cool, Latin and funk rhythms, the piece enables choirs to explore the jazz genre within the more familiar mass texts.
